The Hillsboro Police Department (HPD) provides public access to criminal history information. Under Oregon Law, the general public may obtain criminal records on any resident. However, information obtainable for third-party requests is limited. The HPD only issues Criminal Background Clearances, which are notarized letters that state whether or not a person has a criminal record. The document does not contain any specifics on existing crimes, arrests, or charges, and only covers criminal information in the HPD's custody. To obtain a Hillsboro criminal record, requesters must enclose a completed Criminal Background Clearance request form with a $10 payment. Send to:

Hillsboro Police Department
250 Southeast 10th Avenue
Hillsboro, OR 97213
Phone: (503) 681-6175
Fax: (503) 681-6267

Persons interested in obtaining comprehensive criminal records may contact the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division of the Oregon State Police (OSP). Records obtained from the OSP include arrest dates, offense details, the arresting agency, court of origin, and court disposition.
