Josephine County Arrest, Court, and Public Records

Josephine County public records are official documents containing information relevant to the performance of a general business as defined by the Oregon Public Records Law. Books, letters, symbols, architecture plans, audio files, emails, videotapes, photographs, audio recordings, and SMS are public documents found in both physical and digital formats. Certain documents are not accessible to requesters under the Oregon Public Records Law.

Government agencies restrict access to documents that violate an individual's right to privacy and safety under state law. As a result, record seekers may be unable to access the following information:

  • Social security numbers, credit or debit card account numbers, and driver's license numbers are examples of personal data that governmental staff cannot reveal.
  • Personal, revealing information of a law enforcement employee;
  • Attorney-client communication
  • Misconduct complaints filed against a state Department of Management Services employee;
  • Audit working papers;
  • Public workers can never reveal security protocols and techniques used In a government-owned facility or structure.
  • Negotiations involving public institutions and trade secrets;
  • Information about student records.
  • Witnesses, complainants, and victims' information;
  • Archeological sites and endangered species' precise location
  • Policy-making document drafts and early notes;
  • Documents on pending litigation;
  • Data on an ongoing investigation;
  • Information that fraudsters can use to identify private individuals, such as social security numbers and driver's licenses;
  • Information about competition or bidding;
  • Personal vital records, such as death and birth records;

Third-party websites may also have access to public county records. Subscribers can use these non-governmental platforms to search for a single document or a set of documents from multiple counties. Users must, however, supply sufficient information to aid in the search, such as:

  • The requester's address
  • A case number
  • The document's location or person.
  • The person's name (not juvenile)
  • The last known address of the registrant

Government authorities do not support third-party websites. Information gathered from third-party sites can only be used for informational purposes. As a result, record availability and results may differ.
